Welcome back. Here's what's coming.
If you've been here before, things look a little different. If you're new — hi, glad you found us. Either way, same promise: real information, no gatekeeping, zero pressure.
Here's what each issue is going to have: WFH job leads I've actually looked at, STEM and homeschool resources worth your time, and honest takes on what's out there. We're using MIA Academy as our base curriculum over here and supplementing as we go — still figuring out the social piece since Michigan in March is not exactly cooperative. If you're in the same boat, you're not alone.
💼 WFH Job of the Week: Progressive Insurance
Progressive is actively hiring remote right now — 17 open positions as of this issue. Inbound calls only, no cold calling, and they provide equipment. Positions include claims CSR, general customer service, inbound sales, and bilingual customer care. Some roles require being hardwired into your router so check the job description before applying.
🔧 STEM Find: CrunchLabs
Founded by Mark Rober — yes, the NASA engineer and glitter bomb guy. Three subscription options: Creative Kit for younger kids, Build Box for ages 8–12+, and Hack Pack for teens and adults. Build Box runs about $27–$30/month depending on your plan.
Heads up: this one has a startup cost. It's a paid subscription. I use an affiliate link below — you'll always know when I do and it never changes what I recommend. Mason my son LOVES these.
📌 From the Homeschool Desk
We're using MIA Academy as our home base and layering in extras as we find them. Still working on the social piece — cold Michigan winters don't make co-ops easy. I'll share what's working as we go. Reply and tell me what you're doing too.
